Foreword:
Presenting yourself honestly while attaining credibility and authenticity is very challenging. Certainly everybody tries to give the best he has to offer and boasts with superlatives. While the amateur is blinded by cheap tricks, the professional has long learned from mistakes and keeps questioning. So, feel free to ask us! Believe it or not, we do this job for no other reason than passion!
What is important to us :
The highest priorities at the UFO Studios are you and your product. We approach your suggestions and your wishes with open ears, and based on our experience we try to give you some good advices on how to realise your product. Our production team covers a wide musical area reaching from electronical arrangements to high-end acoustic recordings.

Soundimprovement: |
| |
We certainly aren’t the kind of studio that uses the same standard preset for every musical direction, just to achieve fast and effortless results. Sadly, in our increasingly digital age, sonic individuality tends to get lost. In fact productions become sonically so similar to each other, that you can hardly distinguish them. The main reason for that is contemporary productions being mixed internally in the computer and people relying on allegedly superior D/A-converters. In the end it doesn’t really sound like music anymore.
| |
Generally people mistake the converter outputs as the primary stage of sound-shaping. With that approach all the various vintage soft-synths and plug-ins end up sounding all the same. We are eager to work out an individual sonic concept, which will lend your music an idiosyncratic personal imprint. |

UFO hybrid concept: |
| |
Our concept involves the fusion of the analogue sonic advantages with the flexibility of the digital technology. Since pure digital recordings do sound inferior, we record on analogue equipment such as high-class tape machines, valve- and solid state technology that provides the unimitable warmth with its musical dynamics and that saturated overtone-rich sound and much more. To date, no digital plug in is able to simulate any of these features perfectly.
The point is to provide this sound at the recording stage, as the positive effects cannot be achieved perfectly at a later stage. |
| |
In order to handle the material nonetheless quickly and flexibly, we subsequently convert it into the digital domain. Thus it retains most of its positive analogue values, and doesn’t sound as cold and sterile as a purely digital recording. The amount of possibilities is almost endless. Let your sound be given the breath of life! |

UFO sound research: |
| |
It is vital to us not only to be able to handle the equipment, but to constantly widen our knowledge through constant and thorough tests.
This is especially important, since the sources of information, like various tests and advertisements in magazines only provide a distorted picture of the true sonic values. Too often there is the case of “everybody” bragging about a supposed “listening”-experience, without anyone having ever really listened to it. Our research is particularly important to us for knowing in advance how to achieve a certain sound without having to deal with subsequent loss of sonic quality. Our reference-projects include tests of converters and a surround-sound comparison-DVD (as featured in the acclaimed “Studiomagazinbericht”).
