Mastering of mixdowns in stereo/surround:           
We optimize the sound quality of your recordings with state-of-the-art equipment and make them ready for clubs or radio stations. No effort is too big as we try to get the best possible result out of your recordings. Let us inform you about our unique sound refinement via 2“ analogue tapes. This will lend your recordings warmth and plasticity.

Sound refinement:
Do your self-recorded tracks sound thin and cold? Have you been unable to fulfil your vision  of your personal sound? We refine each of your tracks recorded in a live concert, in the studio or in the rehearsal room. We will provide them with warmth and punch.

Audio restoration:
We clean your recordings up from distraction noises like hiss, clicks etc. We also transfer tapes and vinyl records to CD or DVD.
 
Audio editing:
We edit in every possible way: cleaning, shortening, prolonguing, change of order etc.

Editing classical music :
Complex editing of sophisticated material.

Enhanced CDs:
We produce additional material to the audio CDs like videoclips and lyrics.
     
DVD authoring:
We create the menu, the graphics and the music (in stereo, AC3 or DTS surround) for the premaster of your DVD.

ART OF MASTERING :
The art of mastering lies in creating a union of the vocals, the instruments and the ambience of a recording. Furthermore the sonics, loudness and dynamics should be improved. The finished product should also sound good on avarage stereo home systems.


RELEVANCE OF MASTERING:
While mastering for disc and for broadcast is long essential in the USA, it is still often neglected in Germany. One tends to prefer to use some computer-based mastering plug-ins - mainly in the home studio - and hopes to get to a satisfactory result. Thus many German productions lack the professional touch. Among other things, they lack that transparent, punchy and warm sound. Thus, there are various factors to be taken care of.


WARMER, FATTER, LOUDER, MORE SATURATED..
We will gladly help you to explore the sonic limits of your recordings. Our special analogue mastering equipment provides that fat, warm sound... our digital V.B. C-10 10 band Compressor/limiter as well as the TC M6000 Finalizer will leave you amazed with your own sound.


ADVICES FOR THE PREPARATION OF A MASTER:
When you have already finished the mixing of your tracks, avoid the application of additional exciters, equalizers, stereo-wideners, compressors, normalizing, maximizing or effects. These make it only worse to work with at the mastering stage and limit the possibilities for sonic improvement. Should you have doubts with your mixing decisions, the balance between signals and reverb etc., feel free to give us separate tracks (the essential ones are mostly bass–drum, snare, bass, vocals, effect flags etc.). Of course those shouldn’t be included in the rest of the mix then. Actually it would be optimal, if you provide us with the final mixdown as well as all of the separate tracks.

HOW TO OPTIMALLY PROVIDE US WITH MATERIAL FOR THE UFO MASTERING:
Basically you can hand us your recordings on any media. For the best possible sonic results, give us your music as a data-CD or DVD, on hard disc or on tape or vinyl. MP3, Mini Discs and Audio CDs reduce the sound quality and are not sufficient as a mastering source. DAT tapes are often plagued with jitter and incompability issues and are since not necessarily suited as mastering media.
